ECAR Conducts Straw Poll

At the recent Meet the Candidate Forums hosted by the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors (ECAR), straw polls were conducted at both the Walton County Forum and the Okaloosa County Forum.  Those who attended had the opportunity to hear what the candidates had to say and then cast a vote for their preferred candidate.

In the Walton County races, the preferred candidates won by wide margins.

• Alex Alford, Clerk of Courts, 71%
• Bill Imfeld, County Commissioner District 3, 74%
• Cecilia Jones, County Commissioner District 5, 34%

Okaloosa County preferred candidates won with similar large margins.

• Ben Anderson, Tax Collector, 62%
• Larry Ashley, Sheriff, 76%
• Wayne Harris, County Commissioner District 1, 79%
• Clint Aden, County Commissioner District 3, 32%
• Kelly Windes, County Commissioner District 5, 47%

The real results will be later this year.  Previous Realtor straw polls have predicted the winners 98 percent of the time.
