Tip of the Week – Abbreviations Phase 3
Posted on October 15, 2012 by admin_ecar
Over the last couple of weeks, the Tips have been focused on the different abbreviations that are found in the ECAR MLS system. This week, I want to cover the abbreviations in the listing maintenance pages and the statistical reports. Including a really good short cut.
When I started thinking about the abbreviations used on the maintenance pages, I realized that this one alone could take forever. Each category has different fields that are abbreviated. That’s a huge task. So instead of making a list of each and every one of them, I’m giving you the short cut I mentioned before.
When you’re entering or editing a listing using Change Listing Info, you can hover your cursor over the field name, and get a text box appear. This text box will give you the full name of the field, a brief description of the field, or some entry tips for the field.
These text boxes work in all of the major browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome. You can also tap on the field name on your tablet or iPad. We call them Label Tips, and they were all recently updated by our newest MLS staff member, Chris Peavy. He even included a couple of warnings for fields that could result in automatic fines.
So let’s look at the abbreviations used in the statistical report. Now I can go back to the first Tip on this topic and include the SP/OLP one. There are several statistical reports available; many of the reports use some of these abbreviations, but some don’t use any.
SP/LP – Sale Price/List Price
SP/OLP – Sale Price/Original List Price
AVG DTC - Average Days to Closing (contract date to sold date)
AVG DOM – Average Days on Market
AVG CDOM – Average Continuous Days on Market
AVG $/SF - Average price/square foot
DIFF – Difference
% CHG – % of Change
I believe we’ve now covered pretty much all of the abbreviations. If I’ve missed any, please let me know.
If you have any questions, please call us at 850-244-2411, or email susan@ecaor.com.
