Okaloosa County

On August 20, 2024, Okaloosa County will hold a universal primary for key countywide races. All registered voters can vote for Sheriff, County Commissioner for Districts 1, 3, and 5, and School Board District 2. All county residents vote for all BCC districts- not just the one in which they live

What is a Universal Primary? If, in any race, only candidates of one major party have qualified and there is no minor party, independent, or write-in candidates for the general election, that race will be on the primary ballot for ALL registered voters of the jurisdiction, regardless of party registration

2024 Primary Election Early Voting (In-Person):

Early Voting will be held 10am-6pm August 10-17, 2024. at the following locations: 

  • Okaloosa Supervisor of Elections Headquarters Office, 302 N Wilson St, Ste 102, Crestview
  • Okaloosa Supervisor of Elections Office, 1250 Eglin Pkwy, Ste 103, Shalimar
  • Crestview Public library, 1445 Commerce Dr, Crestview
  • Destin Community Center, 101 Stahlman Ave, Destin
  • Niceville City Hall, 208 N Partin Dr, Niceville

Vote-by-Mail ballots can be delivered to designated secure ballot intake stations at any of our Early Voting sites or office location. 

Walton County

On August 20, 2024, Walton County voters will decide on the Property Appraiser and County Commissioner for District 1 in a universal primary, to be decided that day. All other Walton County races will be a closed primary on August 20 and will be decided in November alongside the general election.

2024 Primary Election Early Voting (In-Person):

August 10th – 17th, 2024, Saturday – Saturday (8 convenient days)

Saturday, August 10th (8:30 am – 4:30 pm)
Sunday, August 11th (1:00 pm – 9:00 pm)
Mon – Sat, August 12th -17th (8:30 am – 4:30 pm)

Please Note: If you choose to cast your ballot on Election Day, you must go to your home precinct’s polling place to do so. It is against the law to vote in a precinct other than the one you currently live in.
